New Chairman for 2017/18

The Parish Council is pleased to announce that at its Annual Meeting on 18th May, Cllr Andrew Naylor was elected as Chairman for 2017/18. The new Vice-Chairman is Cllr Melvyn Smith.

Dementia Friendly Ripponden Event – 6th May 2017

A Dementia Friendly Event is to be held on Saturday 6th May at St Bartholomew’s Church, Ripponden from 11.00am to 2.30pm. The event has been organised to raise awareness of dementia and the support available to people, living locally, affected by dementia. There will be stalls, speakers, singing, fun activities and a café throughout the day. Everyone Welcome!

Ripponden Neighbourhood Plan Workshop

On Saturday 1st April the Parish Council hosted its initial workshop at St Bartholomew’s Church, Ripponden. The day went very well with around 35 people attending the session and the Parish Council has come away with over 200 thoughts, ideas and issues that residents wished to tell us about.

A bespoke website has been set up for the Neighbourhood Plan. It presently contains a survey form for local residents to complete by sharing their views and aspirations. The website will also be used throughout the next few months as the place to post notices of further community consultation events and the findings from these important sessions. Annual Parish Meeting (Annual Assembly) 2017

The Parish Council is hosting this years Annual Parish Meeting at Ripponden Community Centre on Thursday 30th March 2017 7.00pm for 7.30pm

This is a public meeting which anyone from the parish of Ripponden can attend. Community Groups are encouraged to come along and give a short presentation of the work of their group during 2016/17. Residents are asked to come and speak to the Parish Council regarding issues they feel should be a priority for the Council’s attention during the coming year.

Ripponden Neighbourhood Plan

Why not help plan the future of your neighbourhood? You are invited to a workshop where you can share your thoughts and ideas and help inform the themes and content of a new Neighbourhood Plan for the parish of Ripponden. The workshop is on Saturday 1st April 2017,  between 10am and 3.30pm at St Bartholomew’s Church, Ripponden. This is a drop in event so come along and stay as long as you can.  Refreshments and children’s activities will be available.
