The Parish Council is once again hosting the Ripponden Christmas Lights Switch On event, this year on Saturday 25th November. The festivities will commence with a Family Carol Concert at St Bartholomew’s Church 4.30pm. Followed by the Lights Switch On ceremony 5.30pm at the Memorial Garden, Oldham Road. Father Christmas will also be paying the village a short visit to meet with the children.
The Remembrance Sunday Services will be held as usual at the three War Memorials – Rishworth, Ripponden and Barkisland. For further details go to Council News. (Further information).

The Parish Council is very proud of the many community organisations, activities of the area and community spirit of residents. In order to recognise the outstanding work of people who voluntarily and selflessly work to improve the lives of local people, the Parish Council has a ‘Good Citizens Award’.
If you feel that you know someone whose service to the community should be recognised please complete an application form and return it to the Clerk as soon as possible. The closing date is 30th November 2017.

Help raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support by popping down to the Parish Council office on Friday 29th September and having a coffee and slice of cake at Cllr Carter’s Coffee Morning – 10.00am till 12.00 noon.
Please note that due to staff holidays the Parish Council office will not be open on the following dates in August:
Monday 7th, Friday 11th and Wednesday 16th.
