To mark the centenary of the end of the 1914-18 Great War, the Parish Council has produced a Commemorative Booklet, which you should receive with the November edition of ‘Go Local”.
Though a time for national reflection and remembrance, this booklet also looks at the impact WW1 had on our Parish: family stories and pictures; the effect on local industry; and many other relevant topics including the poetry and images which live on today. However, by far the most poignant section is the Roll of Honour, a list of all those who served and lost their lives and whose names appear on the many war memorials to the fallen which are all around the Ripponden Parish.
The Council hopes you and your family enjoy reading this commemorative booklet and that it enriches your knowledge of this specific period in history and, in particular, its effect on our community.
A pdf version of the Booklet can be accessed on this website just follow the link. Booklet
