Melvyn and I were delighted to represent the parish by joining the Masquerade Ball and Civic Dinner at the invitation of Cllr Greg Brett on Saturday 25th February. On a very wet night we attended the George Lawton Hall in the centre of Mossley. All the guests entered into the spirit of the occasion and there were masks of every shape, size and colour.  An excellent three course dinner was enjoyed followed by the entertainment for the evening. The first was a local talent – Lorna Adams who was a vocal sensation, entertaining us with songs from many of the well know musicals. Following on from her performance and the raffle, proceeds of which went to community groups for Mossley, we had another cabaret entertainer Peter Young with comedy and song.  All round a very enjoyable evening.
