Melvyn and I attended our very last civic function on Saturday. This was Holmfirth’s civic reception and dinner held in Holmfirth Civic Hall which the council has recently taken into their ownership to save it from closing. My consort and I attended the Civic Service for Calderdale Mayor Cllr Howard Blagborough and Mayoress Catherine Kirk which was held at St Martins Church in Brighouse. My consort and I attended Shaw and Crompton civic reception and dinner dance at the Masonic Hall in Shaw. We enjoyed superb 5 course dinner and guests were entertained by an excellent singer who had the room singing and dancing.
A Dementia Friendly Event is to be held on Saturday 6th May at St Bartholomew's Church, Ripponden from 11.00am to 2.30pm. The event has been organised to raise awareness of dementia and the support available to people, living locally, affected by dementia.
