On Monday the 1st August together with my Consort, I had the honour of taking part in the Annual Yorkshire Day 2016 Celebrations. We were greeted at Halifax Town Hall by the Mayor and after a short reception joined in the procession to Halifax Minster for a Service of Celebration.

The Streets in the centre of Halifax were lined with flag waving spectators as they watched the procession of Civic Dignitaries from across Yorkshire proceed to the Minster, led by the band of the Corp of Drums, 2nd Batallion Yorkshire Regiment and the L.A. Jazz Band.

The heart-warming service that followed was a fitting reminder of what Yorkshire Day is all about – a celebration of all that is Yorkshire.
